The Google Impact Challenge travels to different regions around the world. It involves asking local, for-purpose organisations how they would use innovation to make a better world.
As part of the selection process, Google invites the public to vote for the projects they believe have the greatest impact potential.
The winners receive substantial funding and technical support to help turn their ideas into reality.
From hundreds of applications, STOCKHOLM + CO.’s client The Fred Hollows Foundation was one of ten finalists in late 2014.
I’m happy to say the public voted for The Fred Hollows Foundation, which received $500,000.
These funds are going towards the development of a low-cost, mobile camera that can detect and help prevent blindness caused by diabetes.
Thank you to everyone who voted!
